The top books in this series are somewhat hard to place, but Prince Caspian comes out on top. It is the second and final book in which all the Pevensie children (Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy) play a major part. The story of Caspian and his rise to power is compelling and sets up the next two books very well.  It introduces interesting characters that continue in those books, such as Reepicheep the Mouse, Trumpkin the Dwarf, and of course Caspian himself.  the It also helps the reader understand the time disparity between Narnian time and our time.

• 3-5 small flannel receiving blankets
• a roll of wide ribbon

What is a Logical Fallacy?

Before one can establish what a logical fallacy is, one must understand what a logical argument looks like.  Generally, an argument has two parts: a premise (or premises) and a conclusion.  A conclusion is a claim being made, and the premises are the support for that conclusion.

There are two major types of logical reasoning: deductive and inductive.  Deductive reasoning is such that, if the premises are true, the conclusionmust be true.  It also moves from general cases to specific ones.

Deductive Argument: If an eight-sided figure is called an octagon, and I just drew a figure with 8 sides, then I just drew an octagon.

There are three major parts of a linear equation:

y and x--the variables

m--the slope-This is how much a line goes up or down divided by every unit that it goes side to side. Example: if a line goes up 2 and to the right 1, then the slope is 2. If it goes up 3 and to the right 4, then the slope is 3/4. A line that goes up and to the right has a positive slope, a line that goes down and to the right is a negative slope.

b--the y-intercept-The place where the line hits the y-axis (the vertical line)

5. University of Arizona (2007-2008)

During the 2007-2008 season, under Hall of Fame basketball coach Lute Olson, money was improperly raised and disbursed to student athlete.  Additionally, assistant coaches participated in coaching-related activities before students were eligible, making those students ineligible players during that year.

The punishment by the NCAA was the loss of one athletic scholarship, a reduction in allowable recruiting days, and the "vacating," or wiping away, of wins in which ineligible players participated, resulting in the loss of 19 wins and their NCAA tournament berth.

Groupon: How does it work?

Many of you may have seen advertisements for a group buying website called Groupon (some maybe even on this or other hubs). Often they tout deals like "[your city here] at 90% off!" or "One ridiculous deal in [your town]". Many people simply gloss over them as a blatant advertising gimmick. You may even be thinking you have to give private information or that it is a scam. I can tell you for a fact that it is none of those things

Groupon works on the same philosophy as a supermarket when it offers "loss leaders". Loss leaders get people in the door, and when they are there, they buy other stuff. You may even return after you have seen some of the things they have to offer. Groupon works the same way. Merchants offer deep discounts (generally 50% or more) through Groupon to get people to try their service or products the first time. Hopefully people like what they have to offer and buy other products and/or return again, this time purchasing at full price. Granted, they rarely get to the advertised 90% threshold, but 75% off is still a good deal.

The year is 2000. The date is September 22, less than one year before the 9/11 attacks. President Clinton signed into law the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act of 2000. The law was sponsored by Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) and had the full backing of both the House of Representatives and the Senate. In fact, there was no formal vote on the bill as it passed with unanimous consent and no objections in both houses of Congress.

Besides the full support of both Republicans and Democrats in both houses, this law had the support of the Christian Legal Society, the Family Research Council, and the American Center for Law and Justice.  Most everyone agreed with the sentiment of bill sponsor Orrin Hatch when he stated, "At the core of religious freedom is the ability for assemblies to gather and worship together."

Google, Yahoo, or Bing: Which Search Engine is Best?

Many people want to know what the "best" search engine is.  Capturing about 95% of searches in the United States are three major players: Google, Yahoo, and Bing.  While the answer to that question will always be subjective, I will attempt to answer the underlying question of "Which search engine seems to generate the most relevant results?" To do this I will perform three common searches and evaluate the results. The searches will be:

• Lou Gehrig's Disease

This is a medical condition known as Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS. The idea here is to be able to evaluate the level of medical information as well as how well irrelevant information (such as that about Lou Gehrig the person and baseball player) is discarded.

• Weather

This search will provide me with how well the search engine can aticipate my desired request, assuming that I want the current weather for my area.

• unemployment news

This will test the respective engines' news feeds for a particular topic. Specifically I will be looking for recent, informative pages on the subject.
